This Sunday, three members of the Murray Osorio team get on a plane to Dilley, Texas to provide pro bono legal services to women and children detained near the border. Brian Murray (myself) and Benjamin Osorio, the named partners of the firm, as well as long-serving paralegal Jessica Monterey will be working in the family detention center in Dilley, Texas for the next week. Throughout the week we expect to be assisting individuals in various ways including filing bond motions and arguing for bond in hearings before the immigration court, as well as helping individuals pursue their rights to asylum and other forms of humanitarian protection.
To this country’s great shame, most of these women and children are fleeing horrific violence and insecurity only to be imprisoned upon their arrival. Our law firm is proud to join many others through the American Immigration Lawyers Association in assisting these courageous souls. We will endeavor to update this blog with our experiences as we are able throughout the week.
